We manage two native plant
nurseries – one for forbs and grasses and one for shrubs – that meet our
restoration needs on an ongoing basis. We propagate some 135 native species,
including 10 that are potentially threatened, threatened or endangered in Ohio.
Most of our nursery stock consists of local genotypes, meaning our seeds come
from plants which evolved in our area and are well suited to local conditions.
An order form for our 2007
native plant sale sale, to be held June 23, will be available soon. Several new
varieties are available this year including sneezeweed (Helenium autumnale),
zig-zag goldenrod (Solidago flexicaulis) and ashy sunflower (Helianthus
mollis).
